This is the entrance to the action shop. Since the piano is a combination of heavy and delicate parts, a shop requires two areas, one for working on the more delicate parts and another area for working on the heavy robust parts. Anything that doesn't have to do with installing pinblocks, repairing soundboards, or refinishing, goes on here. When I am working in the action shop I am normally hanging hammers, installing bushings, recovering keys, repining action centres, and the list goes on!
